I’m not one to purchase things immediately after they blow up on TikTok. In fact, I’m usually pretty late to the party and tend to stumble upon products that went viral by accident (sometimes even months after the fact). However, I’m a huge fan of Sol de Janeiro-anything, so I’m never surprised when the brand’s scents go viral—and its latest fragrance is definitely worth the hype.
You’ve likely come across plenty of reviews on the Delicia Drench Body Butter and Perfume Mist over the last few months; TikTok videos about both products have racked up more than 7.9 million views (and counting). Delicia Drench includes notes of sugared violet, vanilla orchid, amber, and sandalwood, per the brand—users describe it as a “grown up gourmand scent” that’s “warm and sultry.” Even Alixe Earle called it the “perfect” scent.
Right now, you can shop both the body butter and perfume mist for up to 20 percent off during Sephora’s Spring Savings Event depending on your Beauty Insider member status. Just use the code YAYSAVE at checkout to save on the viral duo and other beauty must-haves sitewide.
I’m usually scared to try scents on the sweeter side because I don’t particularly like smelling like candy—not to mention, my boyfriend is highly sensitive to most fragrances. However, it seems like Delicia Drench has done the unthinkable: Not only was it just the right amount of sweetness for me, but my boyfriend has also complimented me on it every time I’ve smothered on the body butter or spritzed on the mist after a shower. Color me impressed.
I agree with other reviewers who say it has a mature gourmand vibe—it’s sugary, but the amber and sandalwood are definitely present. I wouldn’t categorize it as a classic vanilla scent, so don’t let the “vanilla orchid” note throw you off; the vanilla orchid flower actually has more of a jasmine-like scent. Either way, it’s definitely a strong fragrance where you can point out all of its unique notes at once; maybe that’s why it’s so mouth-watering upon first sniff.
One happy reviewer that called the blend “heavenly” said it best: “It’s the perfect amount of floral from the violet, then you get a nice muskiness and warmth from the sandalwood, and then sweetness from the vanilla to soften it all.” Other customers also point out that they get many compliments when they wear Delicia Drench. “I had people stopping me all day telling me I smelled amazing,” one shopper wrote, while someone else said they “always get asked” what they’re wearing. Like many shoppers, I like layering on the mist after using the body butter for the full effect.
Somehow, Sol de Janeiro’s Delicia Drench Body Butter and Perfume Mist haven’t sold out yet, but they just might as more people get a whiff of the intoxicating scent. Shop more popular Sol de Janeiro products while they’re on sale at Sephora, below.
