If you’ve never thrown or attended a garden party, I highly encourage you to get one on your calendar as soon as possible. It doesn’t have to be complicated—some fruit, potato chips with caviar, and an effervescent beverage will do for refreshments. The most important thing is that you wear your most striking, colorful dress and invite the guest of honor: Glossier’s new, dewy spring garden-embodying fragrance.

On March 27, Glossier You Fleur is officially joining the Impressions Of You fragrance family. It comes on the heels of You Rêve and You Doux’s major surprise drops last September, offering an ultimately floral but not just floral edge to the now four-piece (!) collection.

“This olfactory family has reigned supreme in perfumery for quite some time, but we didn’t want to simply conform to it,” explained perfumer Dora Baghriche, who previously collaborated with Frank Voelkl to create the original Glossier You. “Instead, the idea was to imagine how You would express itself if it spoke of flowers.”

The Inspiration

Everyone needs a good floral fragrance in their closet. Fleur was born from this understanding—and from the knowledge that the world can’t get enough of Glossier’s skin-scent enhancing offerings. Why couldn’t there be a product that was both?

“The inspiration came from the search for a connection between the floral universe and You. There is a link between a musky accord and a salty accord, as both evoke skin scents, opening the door to a new kind of sensuality,” Baghriche shared. “I was also inspired by flowers with unique textures, like Osmanthus, which doesn’t just smell floral but also has coppery nuances.”

From there, the perfumer worked to extract notes that would evoke suede, skin, and velvet.

“Fleur is built on evocation and suggestion,” she continued. “The goal was not to replicate a classic floral but to explore an abstract floral sensation through a play on textures and nuances. I wanted to translate the tactile dimension of petals, creating a femininity that is not an obvious cliché. The overall effect remains airy, ambiguous, and open to interpretation.”

The Scent

The final result was a fragrance “that enhances the skin differently from the original [You].” It features a familiar, grounding, and not often seen in floral fragrances mineral salt accord top note and a heart of sheer, fuzzy osmanthus, ylang ylang, apricot skin, and cashmeran. Ambrox rounds things out as a warm, musky base.

“The challenge was to integrate the You signature into the floral universe without betraying Glossier’s revolutionary spirit, which champions individual expression through its creations,” the perfumer added. “It is a fragrance that enhances the skin differently from the original. Addictive and luminous, it retains a warm and sensual depth.”

“This is probably the only floral perfume I’ve ever been interested in wearing. The notes of Osmanthus and Ylang Ylang are sheer so they really give way to the warm and woody scents of cashmeran and ambrox—which is my favorite kind of fragrance! It’s very clear to me what Glossier is doing with fragrance and Fleur perfectly fills the space for a tastefully floral-forward scent within the fragrance family. Fleur is what the Glossier-wearer spritzes to welcome spring with open arms.”

“This is a great fragrance if you’re not into classic florals. A starter floral, if you will. I mostly pick up on the classic You notes—musk and ambrox are super present—as well as the salt note. It’s really pretty, but I barely get any floral notes from it, more of just a soft, creamy vibe. If you’re looking for a true bouquet, this probably won’t fit the bill, but it’s the perfect springy addition to Glossier’s warm and cozy fragrance lineup.”

“Glossier’s You Fleur is the epitome of a springtime scent. Yes, it’s fresh, light, and airy, but it still envelops you with a delightful, lingering aroma (that lasts all day). The fragrance’s mixture of salty and floral notes creates such a dynamic, beautiful blend—and I guarantee you’ll get compliments every time you wear it. My boyfriend loves how You Fleur smells on me so much that now he’s asking for his own bottle.”

“If You Fleur were a bouquet, it would be one of those Instagram-viral arrangements bursting with vines, rich textures, and beautifully esoteric flowers. It’s not a floral in the way that you’d expect; rather, it’s simultaneously creamy and salty, intimate yet whimsical—it’s a floral for people who hate florals. The mineral salt note is almost hypnotizing, and it somehow captures the nostalgic aftertaste of sea spray on sun-drenched skin. This is the most playful iteration of You yet—it’s the kind of floral that makes you feel like you’re in a pastel-hued Wes Anderson film.”
